Taufkirchen, Germany / Delhi, India, 4 October 2021 – Delhi Metro is one of the pioneers in metro operations in India and has been operating metro services in the last two decades. HENSOLDT was awarded the contract to deliver four of its RS-10 “Simsphere Train” driving simulators, two instructor stations and four observer stations for Delhi metro’s Line-7 and Line-8 trains.

The simulators are installed inside a newly built simulator building within Delhi Metro Rail Academy located in Delhi and will be used to train new train operators and maintenance staff before they are sent to mainline duty. Many other metros across India have Delhi Metro as their mentors/consultants and even published similar simulator requirements to be inducted into their organizations.

An upgrade contract for RS10-simulators was awarded in July 2021 for providing software upgrades to match the latest train configuration which will be implemented and delivered in the coming months.

“Simsphere Train” is a family of train driver training products based on decades of experience in the field, providing an advanced integrated suite for train driver training. “Simsphere Train” includes a wide range of simulation applications from full-motion simulators to tablet-based applications. “Simsphere Train” can thus be used to train complex learning situations that in reality could only be carried out at high cost and with high risks for man and material.
