Armed Forces Covenant
Supporting veterans
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the British Armed Forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.
By signing the covenant, HENSOLDT UK has made a pledge to uphold its key principles and to show our commitment to being an armed forces-friendly organisation.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver, and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
HENSOLDT UK was first awarded an ERS Silver Award in 2016 and continues to have its support acknowledged.
We have a history of providing opportunities for the Armed Forces community, who work in all areas of the business. We make specific provision within our employment policies to ensure that all the necessary training and support is given to enable ex-armed forces personnel to successfully transfer their skills to meet the company’s needs.
The company remains committed to offering meaningful employment, working with ‘service friendly’ recruitment agencies such as the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) and Forces for Families. Also, reservists and cadet instructors are given the paid leave if they need to deploy and attend training and annual camps.
